As summer winds down, Mokena's big fall celebration moves in. The Mokena Family Fall Fest runs Oct 1 to 4, 2026 at Yunker Farm on La Porte Road, with a carnival, food vendors, kids' activities, a beer tent, and live music. Hours run Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. (carnival only), Friday from 5:30 to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. (carnival only), with about $5 admission. It is an easy, close-to-home way to kick off October, and it pairs nicely with a ride along the Old Plank Trail during the day.
